Adria is a town and comune in the province of Rovigo in the Veneto region of Northern Italy, situated between the mouths of the rivers Adige and Po. The Via Annia was the consular Roman road through Cisalpine Gaul which linked Atria (modern Adria) to Aquileia, passing through Patavium (modern Padua), then, skirting the barely inhabited lagoon, through Altinum (a frazione of modern Quarto d'Altino) and Iulia Concordia.
