Ä.; ca. 1427 in Ajtós, near Gyula in Hungary – before 20 September 1502, Nuremberg), born as "Ajtossy" or "Ajtósi", was a Hungarian goldsmith in Nuremberg and the father of the Northern Renaissance painter Albrecht Dürer. Nuremberg (Nürnberg) is a city on the river Pegnitz and on the Rhine–Main–Danube Canal in the German state of Bavaria, in the administrative region of Middle Franconia, about north of Munich.
