Difference between Circular RNA and Rolling circle replication

Circular RNA vs. Rolling circle replication

Circular RNA (or circRNA) is a type of RNA which, unlike the better known linear RNA, forms a covalently closed continuous loop, i.e., in circular RNA the 3' and 5' ends normally present in an RNA molecule have been joined together. Rolling circle replication describes a process of unidirectional nucleic acid replication that can rapidly synthesize multiple copies of circular molecules of DNA or RNA, such as plasmids, the genomes of bacteriophages, and the circular RNA genome of viroids.

Similarities between Circular RNA and Rolling circle replication

Circular RNA and Rolling circle replication have 4 things in common (in Unionpedia): Directionality (molecular biology), Molecular biology, Plasmid, RNA.

Directionality (molecular biology)

Directionality, in molecular biology and biochemistry, is the end-to-end chemical orientation of a single strand of nucleic acid.
