Difference between Metropolis–Hastings algorithm and Nicholas Metropolis

Metropolis–Hastings algorithm vs. Nicholas Metropolis

In statistics and in statistical physics, the Metropolis–Hastings algorithm is a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method for obtaining a sequence of random samples from a probability distribution for which direct sampling is difficult. Nicholas Constantine Metropolis (Greek: Νικόλαος Μητρόπουλος, June 11, 1915 – October 17, 1999) was a Greek-American physicist.
