Difference between P-factor and Propeller

P-factor vs. Propeller

P-factor, also known as asymmetric blade effect and asymmetric disc effect, is an aerodynamic phenomenon experienced by a moving propeller,(Willits 3-49) that is responsible for the asymmetrical relocation of the propeller's center of thrust when an aircraft is at a high angle of attack. A propeller is a type of fan that transmits power by converting rotational motion into thrust.

Similarities between P-factor and Propeller

P-factor and Propeller have 5 things in common (in Unionpedia): Angle of attack, Counter-rotating propellers, Critical engine, Propeller walk, Thrust.

Angle of attack

In fluid dynamics, angle of attack (AOA, or \alpha (Greek letter alpha)) is the angle between a reference line on a body (often the chord line of an airfoil) and the vector representing the relative motion between the body and the fluid through which it is moving.

Counter-rotating propellers

Counter-rotating propellers, also referred to as CRP, found on twin- and multi-engine propeller-driven aircraft, spin in directions opposite one another.

Critical engine

The critical engine of a multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft is the engine a failure of which would most adversely affect the performance or handling abilities of an aircraft(§1.1).

Propeller walk

Propeller walk is the term for a propeller's tendency to rotate a boat as well as accelerating it forwards or backwards.

P-factor and Propeller Comparison

P-factor has 11 relations, while Propeller has 123. As they have in common 5, the Jaccard index is 3.73% = 5 / (11 + 123).
