The Imperial Russian Army (Ру́сская импера́торская а́рмия) was the land armed force of the Russian Empire, active from around 1721 to the Russian Revolution of 1917. Polish Legion in Finland (Legion Polski w Finlandii) was a military unit made up of ethnic Poles who had been soldiers of the Russian Imperial Army in World War I. Created on April 24, 1917, in Viipuri, the unit existed until March 1, 1918.
