Eugene Ellsworth Landy (November 26, 1934 – March 22, 2006) was an American psychologist and psychotherapist best known for his unconventional 24-hour therapy, and especially for his treatment of the Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson in the 1970s and 1980s, which was deemed unethical by Californian courts. Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior and overcome problems in desired ways.
