Arena Joondalup

Arena Joondalup, currently alternatively known by a commercial naming rights label of HBF Arena, is a multi-purpose stadium and sport, recreation and aquatic centre located in Joondalup, Western Australia. It is located on 35 ha of parkland approximately 25 km north of Perth. It was officially opened in 1994. An $11 million indoor aquatic centre, including a 50 m 10-lane competition pool, was completed in 2000 as part of the Arena Joondalup complex. The capacity of the venue is 16,000 people. The stadium is part of a larger athletic complex that has an indoor arena that can host basketball and netball matches, a swimming venue, and a field hockey area. It is the largest athletic complex of its kind in Western Australia. The Arena usually hosts Australian rules football matches, and has been the home stadium of the West Perth Football Club since 1994. It was home to the ECU Joondalup Soccer Club (formerly Joondalup City) from 1995, the Joondalup Lakers Hockey Club and the Joondalup & Districts Rugby League Club (Joondalup Giants) who moved to the Arena in 2008. Joondalup Brothers R.U.F.C, the largest junior rugby club in Western Australia, moved to the complex in 2011. HBF Arena was also one of the home grounds for the Perth Spirit team in the National Rugby Championship in 2014. Arena Joondalup was awarded 'Facility Management Award' at the biannual Sport and Recreation Industry Awards in November 2001. Since 1999 Arena Joondalup has been host to the Rock-It musical festival, which is one of the major rock concerts held regularly in Perth, with attendances of up to 25,000 people.

Brent LeCras

Brent Phillip LeCras (born 12 October 1981) is an Australian rules football player who played in the Australian Football League for the Kangaroos. He was originally recruited from Cervantes. After being drafted in 2003, LeCras played six matches for the Kangaroos between 2005 and 2006. He currently plays for West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League. In total, he has played 108 games and kicked 134 goals for the Falcons since making his debut in 2002. He received the 2003 Simpson Medal for best-on-ground in the WAFL Grand Final, and the 2009 Simpson Medal for his performance in the WAFL state game against the SANFL. He was selected in the 2011 WAFL state squad. He is the brother of current West Coast Eagles player Mark LeCras. Their father, Peter LeCras, played for East Fremantle in the WAFL.
