The two Books of Kings, originally a single book, are the eleventh and twelfth books of the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament. Jeroboam II (יָרָבְעָם Yārāḇə‘ām; Ἱεροβοάμ; Hieroboam/Jeroboam) was the son and successor of Jehoash, (alternatively spelled Joash), and the thirteenth king of the ancient Kingdom of Israel, over which he ruled for forty-one years in the eighth century BC.
