The Bangladesh Army (BA, বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী, Bangladesh Senabahini) is the land forces branch and the largest of the three defence service of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Mohammad Abdur Rab, Bir Uttom (মোহাম্মদ আব্দুর রব) (born 1919 – died 1975) also known as M A Rab, was the first Chief of Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 10 April 1971 till 6 April 1972.
