Difference between Btrfs and Trim (computing)

Btrfs vs. Trim (computing)

Btrfs (pronounced as "butter fuss", "better F S", "butter F S", "b-tree F S", or simply by spelling it out) is a file system based on the copy-on-write (COW) principle, initially designed at Oracle Corporation for use in Linux. A trim command (known as TRIM in the ATA command set, and UNMAP in the SCSI command set) allows an operating system to inform a solid-state drive (SSD) which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally.
