GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe the protocols for second-generation digital cellular networks used by mobile devices such as tablets, first deployed in Finland in December 1991. Parlay X was a set of standard Web service APIs for the telephone network (fixed and mobile.). It is defunct and now replaced by OneAPI, which is the current valid standard from the GSM association for Telecom third party API.
