Giovanni Carmine Pellerano (6 February 1702 – 18 April 1783) was an Italian Catholic prelate and a member of the Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem who became bishop of Malta in 1770. The Rising of the Priests (Ir-Rewwixta tal-Qassisin), also known as the Maltese Rebellion of 1775 and the September 1775 Rebellion, was an uprising led by Maltese clergy against the Order of Saint John, who had sovereignty over Malta.
