Difference between High-intensity interval training and VO2 max

High-intensity interval training vs. VO2 max

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE) or sprint interval training (SIT), is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods, until too exhausted to continue. VO2 max (also maximal oxygen consumption, maximal oxygen uptake, peak oxygen uptake or maximal aerobic capacity) is the maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured during incremental exercise (exercise of increasing intensity).

Similarities between High-intensity interval training and VO2 max

High-intensity interval training and VO2 max have 4 things in common (in Unionpedia): Anaerobic exercise, Cardiorespiratory fitness, Exercise, Stationary bicycle.

Anaerobic exercise

Anaerobic exercise is a physical exercise intense enough to cause lactate to form.
