Difference between KTVX and Network affiliate

KTVX vs. Network affiliate

KTVX, virtual channel 4 (UHF digital channel 40), is an ABC-affiliated television station licensed to Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The station is owned by the Nexstar Media Group, as part of a duopoly with Ogden-licensed CW affiliate KUCW (channel 30). The two stations share studio facilities located on West 1700 South in Salt Lake City (along I-215); KTVX's transmitter is located atop Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. On cable, the station is available on Comcast Xfinity channel 4 and in high definition on digital channel 652. The station has a large network of broadcast translators that extend its over-the-air coverage throughout Utah, as well as portions of Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming. In the broadcasting industry (particularly in North America), a network affiliate or affiliated station is a local broadcaster, owned by a company other than the owner of the network, which carries some or all of the lineup of television programs or radio programs of a television or radio network.
