Boidinia

Index Boidinia

Boidinia is a genus of crust fungi in the family Russulaceae. [1]

Table of Contents

  1. 11 relations: Agaricomycetes, Basidiomycota, Corticioid fungi, Fungus, Genus, Giacomo Bresadola, Gloeocystidiellum, Monophyly, Russulaceae, Russulales, Type species.

Agaricomycetes

The Agaricomycetes are a class of fungi in the division Basidiomycota.

See Boidinia and Agaricomycetes

Basidiomycota

Basidiomycota is one of two large divisions that, together with the Ascomycota, constitute the subkingdom Dikarya (often referred to as the "higher fungi") within the kingdom Fungi.

See Boidinia and Basidiomycota

Corticioid fungi

The corticioid fungi are a group of fungi in the Basidiomycota typically having effused, smooth basidiocarps (fruit bodies) that are formed on the undersides of dead tree trunks or branches.

See Boidinia and Corticioid fungi

Fungus

A fungus (fungi or funguses) is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms.

See Boidinia and Fungus

Genus

Genus (genera) is a taxonomic rank above species and below family as used in the biological classification of living and fossil organisms as well as viruses.

See Boidinia and Genus

Giacomo Bresadola

Giacomo Bresadola (Mezzana, Trento; often given as Giacopo) 14 February 1847 – Trento 9 June 1929) was an eminent Italian mycologist. Fungi he named include the deadly Lepiota helveola and Inocybe patouillardii, though the latter is now known as Inosperma erubescens as this latter description predated Bresadola's by a year.

Gloeocystidiellum

Gloeocystidiellum is a single genus of fungi in the monotypic Gloeocystidiellaceae family. Boidinia and Gloeocystidiellum are Russulales, Russulales genera and Russulales stubs.

See Boidinia and Gloeocystidiellum

Monophyly

In biological cladistics for the classification of organisms, monophyly is the condition of a taxonomic grouping being a clade – that is, a grouping of taxa which meets these criteria.

See Boidinia and Monophyly

Russulaceae

The Russulaceae are a diverse family of fungi in the order Russulales, with roughly 1,900 known species and a worldwide distribution. Boidinia and Russulaceae are Russulales.

See Boidinia and Russulaceae

Russulales

The Russulales are an order of the Agaricomycetes, (which include the agaric genera Russula and Lactarius and their polyporoid and corticioid relatives).

See Boidinia and Russulales

Type species

In zoological nomenclature, a type species (species typica) is the species name with which the name of a genus or subgenus is considered to be permanently taxonomically associated, i.e., the species that contains the biological type specimen (or specimens).
